Jellyfish serve as a habitat to many ocean creatures… Jellyfish play a critical role in the lives of different marine creatures. While they are used as a direct food source for many, some use them as shelter (juvenile fish), some as a means of travelling from A to B and some have a combined interest of travelling while snacking on the microscopic parasites attached to the Jellyfish.
These symbiotic relationships are very intricate and are being investigated by scientists.
Before on this blog I have posted about the Nembrotha purpureolineata, a nudibranch species that had recently been decided to include what used to be a separate species, Nembrotha rutilans. The nudibranch pictured above would once have been considered the Nembrotha rutilans, which is why I’m giving it its own post. Once again, members of this species grow to be 12cm long, live in the Indo-West Pacific, and feed on ascidians and tunicates. Here is the old post, as it is interesting to see the diversity there is even within nudibranch species!
so apparently Minecraft did this thing where people submitted their own builds to be made into steel structures that would be used to regrow coral in coral reefs, and one of the ones that got selected is a fishwolf, so now there is an actual physical minecraft wolf mermaid hybrid at the bottom of the ocean saving the coral reefs and i am living
